I have just ordered some more Neem cream with turmeric which I have been using for a long time and also the massage oil.

I now have a 9 week old grandchild who has developed excema on her face, neck and chest. She also has quite bad cradle cap. Would it be safe to use the massage oil on her scalp and the Neem cream on her skin – I am especially concerned about her face? Would it be better to use the new face cream that is now on your website or do you think she is just too young yet for your products?

Couldn’t be without letting you know that the Neem Oil has been a wonderful success in treating my dog Gus’ fungal ear infection. He has had this as a recurring problem since he was rehomed with us. Never before has his ear seemed completely cured. Its been a few weeks now and no sign of the infection recurring. I know that he is prone to this problem, the Vet has explained that its because he ear canal is so small.

I now intend to treat him with the Neem oil every few weeks as a preventative measure to the fungal infection. Also, rather than softening the oil to liquid and using a Q tip, I would recommend that to apply, take a little of the solid oil on the tip of one’s finger and insert to the ear canal gently or alternatively use a small cotton swab to apply ( a Q tip is too small and dangerous to use). The dogs body temperature will melt the oil and it will gently trickle into the lower ear canal where it needs to do its job.

Do you remember the devastation caused by heavy snowfall, in December, a couple of years ago when people were advised not to risk driving? Local councils were struggling to grit roads and the grit they did spread was soon covered by fresh snowfalls. Flights were cancelled because of the atrocious conditions and airports looked like refugee camps because of the masses that missed flights and masses that were hoping to be able to fly out. When will the snow stop?

Our daughter, Annelise, wanted us to spend a week with her in Bahrain and had made arrangements for an eventful week before Christmas. We were packed and ready to go, but…... There were regular warnings on the radio and television about the dire conditions of the roads, and airports told intending passengers to keep away as their facilities were at full srtetch.

Ours was a morning flight and we would be driving to the airport so, rather than make a very early start I arranged to spend the previous night at an airport hotel. Our daughter Annelise  in Bahrain, son Michael in Australia and daughter Joanne in Cambridge were  monitoring weather conditions and were very concerned for us; they advised us against travelling.

Decision time. Annelise was torn between wanting to have us spend a week with her and her concern for our safety. She would be “gutted” if we could not make it but would accept the reasons. It would be a downer for us as we had really looked forward to visiting our daughter.  Time to consult the oracle, so we brought out our tried and tested dowsing  pendulums. Experience has taught us to trust our dowsing. We asked if it would be safe for us to drive to Heathrow and got a Clear “YES”, so off we set. We live in a little valley and struggled up the un-gritted lane to the top onto the main (sic) road. Our children were not pleased.

We had to stop at Cardiff West for a comfort break and had to park at the rear of the service area as the car park was snow bound. Cars leaving the area had to be assisted up the slope but there was no one to assist us so we had a go and if felt like someone was pushing us. Back on the motor way and the conditions were getting worse as were the weather reports monitored by our children. The chorus said: “Turn back, there are no flights leaving”. Fools rush and al that! Marjorie looked to me for a decision and my instinct told me to carry on. Dowsing< -> Instinct< -> Dowsing. That is what it is all about.

We looked forward to the 6day exhibiton at Earls Court with trepidation for more than one reason:

• The duration
• New venue and the logistics problems
• Parking
• Level of stock

to name a few. The access and setting up went quite smoothly, and that was one less worry. The exhibitors at our neighbouring stands were the same at the previous years show, and we got on well.

Open the doors and let them in. The number of visitors on the first day was encouraging and augered well for the rest of the show but the second day was a bit of a flop. Hang on to your horses for the third day and slow down to a trot on the fourth. The fifth day was a canter and we galloped on the last day.

The stock, tables and all the rest of the paraphenelia was shoe-horned into our little van, and we hoped to returnn lighter and were not disappointed as we had five empty stock cases at the end of the event. Surprisingly, we sold out of our dowsing tools.

We were bombarded with the noise of the entertainment from the stage not far from us and could barely make ourselves heard sometimes. The atmosphere seemed heavy at all times, and there was no bonhomie. A futher cloud was cast with the uncertainty of the event being held next year.

On the whole, we were pleased the way the MBS event went.

A lot of our friends comment on how well Marjorie and I look; our customers, when we were innkeepers 16 years ago, say we look better now than then inspite of being 16 years older. So what’s the secret? Diet?
We are unabashed carnivores and like the ocassional tipple; we exercise as and when. So?
If truth be told – horrible expression – it really is our diet which, coincidentally, we started with the birth of the Neem People. Every morning and evening we ingest two capsules each of Neem, Bitter Melon and Turmeric and we are proof of the pudding.

In a challenging and competetive market, with the added hurdle of economic pressure, I took heed of my Uncle Rab’s advice about not putting all one’s eggs in one basket.

Our Neem People business is steady, with new customers replacing those who no longer need our help but, what with money being tight, customers are not ordering as much as before so we had to find ways to maintain their interest.

WE have always had an iterest in dowsing and use it extensively in our own lives. We encourage people to dowse before they buy from us so that they are sure they are buying what is right for them. Charlatans beware! Most people have a vague idea of what dowsing is all about and some have not heard about it so sequitur, we set about teaching people to dowse.

Although you can dowse without tools the use of tools gives a tangible response to your quest; this sequence involved making dowsing tools to sell to the new community of dowsers. A local crafstman made wooden pendulums for me inspite of being handicapped with a stroke. Why wooden pendulums? Because the original dowsing tool, a forked twig, was wood. These proved to be very popular and Dennis had to work overtime. Then, sadly, Dennis had another stroke and was unable to use his lathe. There are plenty of woodworkers around, who could turn pendulums, but they were asking silly money which would deter people buying pendulums, so I had to source my pendulums elsewhere and was fortunate in finding a manufacturer in India. I found another manufacturer in India who now makes me very attractive suede pouches for the pendulums.

Dowsing “L” Rods proved a bit of a problem and our early attempts were a tad amateurish until we had an EUREKA! moment. Purists will tell you that you do not need “handles” that allow the rods to swivel but our rods, used corectly, are very sensitive. The look of utter amazement when the rods move in the hands of a novice is one of the satisfactions of teaching.

Bobbers are the ultimate in sensitivity, even though our bobbers are basic as compared with bobbers made by the late Arthur Bebbington.

It is all very well teaching people to dowse at our stand at the exhibitions – even if it detracted  from our main business of promoting and selling products of The Healing Neem Tree : http://www.theneempeople.com – but I felt I had to cast my net wider if I was going to recruit more people into our dowsing fraternity so I spoke with event organisers to ask for a speaking slot, and I was allocated a room and 30 minutes. So much to talk about and so little time. Realising the popularity of my talks I was given an hour to do a workshop; the numbers attending varied from 3, at a local MBS exhibition, to 65 in Dublin. An hour was still too short so some organisers stretched the time to 90 minutes.

My workshops are interactive, with the audience given the opportunity to try dowsing with a forked twig, pendulum, “L” rods and the bobber.

• I start with an introduction when I mention the Special Interest Groups.
• I then demonstrate the method of dowsing with each of the dowsing tools
• The audience try dowsing with the forked twigs I have brought along
• We move on to the bobbers, put these aside and
• I hand out pairs of  “L” rods which the audience seem fascinated by and
• Finally everyone is given a wooden pendulum to dowse with
• Back to their seats and we pore over folders containing dowsing information and charts

I have no idea how many attendees I will have, so it is touch and go as to whether or not I have sufficient material for all. Sadly, I have to race through the whole programme because time flies and the next speaker needs the room.

Our last exhibition was at the truly awesome Monastery in Gorton, Manchester and it was the first time I was allowed to do a 90 minute workshop here. This organiser gets people to pre-book seats for talks and workshops, so was able to advise me that I had a full house of 55 people. I was keen to see the room I was allocated and went cold when I saw that the 2nd floor room was arranged in an “intimate” classroom style with no room to move about. THINK!

I explained my predicament to the organiser and suggested that I hold the introduction in the room, then we all move down to the quadrangle – luckily it was a dry, albeit cold, day – for the practical dowsing, returning to the room for the conclusion. I explained this to my audience – the overflow sat on the floor – and they took it in good spirit (Monastery!). A lot of my audience buy my dowsing tools and I encourage them to join their local dowsing group.

Note: Every now and again there will be someone in my audience who cannot use any of the dowsing tools. This puzzled me until I found the reason.

There will be two more firsts for me later this year, as I have been accepted as a workshop presenter at a six day MBS exhibition at Earls Court, London and a three day show at Olympia.

Can I? Yes – May I? Yes – Should I? Most certainly.

It is a long way to Tipperary and to Cork, and to Dublin so you can understand why we are on tenterhooks about the business we will be doing at these venues. The two exhibitions were a week apart
